J Parlour Salon Policies
Thank you for choosing J Parlour. To ensure the best experience for all clients and to allow us to maintain a professional, efficient, and relaxing environment, we kindly ask that you read and understand the following policies prior to booking your appointment.
Health & Hygiene
The health, safety, and comfort of our clients and team are our priority.
- Wearing a face mask is optional. Clients who prefer to wear a mask are welcome to do so.
- Hand sanitiser is available at reception and throughout the salon for your convenience.
- If you are feeling unwell, experiencing cold or flu-like symptoms, have conjunctivitis, a contagious skin condition, or any other illness that may affect the safety of your treatment, please contact us to reschedule your appointment.
- We reserve the right to refuse treatment if we believe it may compromise the health and safety of our staff or clients.
Booking Deposits
A deposit is required to secure all appointments.
- A $50 booking deposit is required for appointments over $50.
- For services valued under $50, full payment is required at the time of booking.
- Your deposit will be applied towards your treatment total on the day of your appointment.
- Deposits are non-refundable but may be transferred to a future appointment when sufficient notice is provided in accordance with our Cancellation & Rescheduling Policy.
- By booking an appointment, you acknowledge and agree to these terms and conditions.
Cancellation & Rescheduling Policy
We understand that unexpected circumstances can arise; however, adequate notice allows us to offer appointment times to clients on our waiting list.
- A minimum of 48 hours' notice is required to cancel or reschedule an appointment.
- Cancellations or rescheduling requests made within 48 hours of the scheduled appointment will result in the forfeiture of the booking deposit.
- Cancellations, rescheduling requests, or no-shows within 24 hours of the appointment will incur a charge equal to 100% of the booked service amount.
- Clients with outstanding cancellation fees may be required to settle these fees before booking future appointments.
- Fees may be waived at the salon's discretion in genuine emergency or extenuating circumstances.
Late Arrivals
To ensure fairness to all clients and maintain our appointment schedule:
- Please arrive on time for your appointment.
- Clients arriving late may receive a shortened service to avoid impacting subsequent appointments.
- Full payment for the booked service will still be required, regardless of whether the full treatment can be completed.
- Clients arriving more than 15 minutes late may be considered a no-show and may need to reschedule their appointment.
- We reserve the right to refuse treatment if insufficient time remains to safely and effectively perform the service.
No-Shows
A no-show occurs when a client fails to attend their appointment without prior notice.
- No-show appointments will be charged at 100% of the scheduled service amount.
- Repeated no-shows may result in restrictions on future bookings or require full prepayment at the time of booking.
Lash Appointment Preparation
To achieve the best possible results and maximise retention:
- Please arrive with completely clean lashes and no eye makeup, particularly mascara, eyeliner, or strip lash adhesive residue.
- Avoid oil-based products around the eye area for at least 24 hours prior to your appointment.
- Avoid excessive caffeine before your appointment, as it may cause eye fluttering during the treatment.
- Please use the restroom before your appointment to minimise interruptions.
- Contact lenses may be worn during the service; however, some clients may find removal more comfortable.
Additional cleansing time required due to makeup residue may reduce the time available for lash application.
Brow Appointment Preparation
For optimal brow results:
- Avoid applying moisturisers, oils, serums, fake tan, or makeup to the brow area the evening before and the day of your appointment.
- Clients booking tinting services should be aware that skin type, previous skincare use, and aftercare may affect stain longevity.
- For best results, discontinue the use of active skincare ingredients (such as retinol, AHAs, BHAs, and exfoliants) around the brow area for several days prior to treatment where possible.
Lash Extension Infills
To qualify for an infill appointment:
- A minimum of 40% of healthy, well-maintained lash extensions must remain.
- The appointment must be booked within the designated timeframe from your previous appointment:Light Infill: Within 2 weeks of your last appointment.Full Infill: Within 3 weeks of your last appointment.
- Appointments exceeding 3 weeks, or those with less than 40% lash retention, may require a Full Set and will be charged accordingly.
- Excessively grown-out, twisted, or poorly maintained extensions may require additional removal time and may be charged as a Full Set at the discretion of your lash artist.
Please note that infills are only guaranteed on work completed by J Parlour.
Allergies, Sensitivities & Contraindications
- Clients are responsible for informing their therapist of any allergies, sensitivities, medical conditions, medications, eye conditions, pregnancy, or recent cosmetic procedures that may affect treatment.
- Patch testing is recommended for clients with sensitive skin, previous reactions, or those receiving tinting, lash lift, brow lamination, or other chemical treatments for the first time.
- While every care is taken, J Parlour cannot guarantee that allergic reactions will not occur.
Children & Additional Guests
To maintain a safe and relaxing environment:
- Children and additional guests are always welcome at our salon.
- Due to the use of sharp instruments, chemicals, and treatment beds, children must not be left unattended in the salon.
Refund Policy
Due to the nature of professional beauty services:
- Refunds are not provided for change of mind.
- If you have concerns regarding your treatment, please contact us within 48 hours of your appointment so we can assess the issue and, where appropriate, arrange a complimentary adjustment.
- Results may vary between clients depending on aftercare, lifestyle, skin type, and natural lash or brow condition.
